This regulated qualification has been developed to meet the requirements for New Zealand Ministry of Justice and the United Kingdom Security Industry Authority (SIA) training courses. It is based on the relevant NZQA security units and the SIA Specifications for Learning and Qualifications in:

  • Security Guard
  • Mobile Patrols
  • Events Security
  • CCTV Monitoring

The training package includes the NZQA security training units and one of the above courses.

The main target of the course is to provide the student with all the necessary theoretical knowledge, practical skills and a New Zealand Security License (COA) to work within the New Zealand Security Industry, and to enhance the training for security officers within New Zealand.

This course is ideal for individuals new to the industry and those who have the correct visa to work within New Zealand, adding to their skill set or transitioning into this new rewarding career.

As soon as you complete our training package and receive the COA from the Ministry of Justice you can apply for work.

Unit 27360: Conflict Management (Theory)

Unit 27361: Conflict Management (Practical)

Unit 27364: Introduction to the Security Industry

Security Guard mandatory training consisting of the following unit standards:

Unit 1: Working in the Security Industry
Unit 2: Working as a Security Officer in the Security Industry
Unit 3: Working in Conflict Management in the Security Industry

CCTV mandatory training consisting of the following unit standards:

Unit 1: Working in the Security Industry
Unit 2: Working as a CCTV Operator in the Security Industry
Unit 3: Practical Operation of CCTV Equipment

Events mandatory training consisting of the following unit standards:

Unit 1: Prepare for spectator events

Unit 2: Control the entry, exit and movement of people at spectator events

Unit 3: Monitoring spectators and dealing with crowd problems

Unit 4: Dealing with accidents and emergencies

 

COA Course

Unit Standards 27360 and 27364 is done on line in your own time this should take around 8 hours to complete.
Unit Standard 27361 will take 5 hours to complete this can be done in person or on line.

This course must be completed within 90 days from payment.

UK Training Courses

Each of the UK security courses is 32 hours. Multiple options are available to meet your learning style.

Skill Prerequisites

A candidate does not have to possess prior experience in security.
Must be able to communicate clearly and have a baseline level of English and maths at level 1.
This qualification is approved for delivery to learners aged 18 and over.

All test will be completed in English if not stated otherwise.
All students will undergo a number of multiple-choice question exams and ongoing Theoretical and Practical Assessments
